Dr. Turgut AKGÜL, who has continued his professional career in various training and research hospitals, has been serving as an Orthopedics and Traumatology Specialist at Memorial Bahçelievler Hospital in Istanbul since 2026. Previously, he served in the same field at Biruni University Hospital between 2024-2026, and at Koç University Hospital between 2020-2024. Between 2012-2023, he continued his academic and clinical work within the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology at Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, and worked at Şanlıurfa Training and Research Hospital in 2011-2012. Additionally, in 2016, he was an academic observer at Hospital for Special Surgery, one of the world's leading orthopedic centers in the United States. The physician, who places great importance on professional development, has participated in numerous training programs, courses, and certification programs both domestically and internationally. Among these are the Microsurgery Course completed at the Microsurgery Laboratory of the Department of Neurosurgery at Zurich University Hospital in Switzerland (2013), AO Trauma Principles in Operative Fracture Management (2010) and AO Trauma Advances in Operative Fracture Management (2011) courses, MedicReS Good Reviewer Certificate Program (2015), and Experimental Animals Use Course (2014). He has strengthened his expertise in his specialty field with certificates and diplomas obtained at national and international levels. In 2014, he qualified to receive the European Board of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (EBOT) Diploma, and in 2017, he obtained the European Spine Course Diploma Certificate and the Turkish Spine Association Spine Surgery Competency Certificate. These trainings and certifications particularly support his expertise in spine surgery, trauma surgery, and advanced orthopedic treatments.
