What is NeoGraft

It is a technological and semi-automatic version of the classic FUE Hair Transplant method. Hair roots in the donor area are collected using a special pneumatic vacuum system. No scalpel is used during the procedure, no incisions or sutures are made. It provides precise extraction and placement by reducing the risk of damage to the roots.

NeoGraft is a hair transplant technique supported by the latest technology. This technique provides the least invasive approach for hair extraction and application. Additionally, the semi-automatic nature of this technique reduces the likelihood of errors during hair transplantation.

This new technique is suitable not only for hairline restoration and hair transplant in the crown area, but also for eyebrow and Beard Transplant.

NeoGraft is essentially a semi-automatic pneumatic device that helps practitioners extract follicular units. In practice, the device uses a suction system to collect grafts from the donor area (the back and sides of your head). A rotating punch pierces the hair skin around each follicle, then gently suction "pulls" the graft and stores it in a reservoir.

What are the Advantages? :: No scarring: Does not create a linear or straight surgical scar.
Fast healing: Since it is a minimally invasive procedure, the return to daily life is quick.
Natural appearance: The hairline can be planned at a more homogeneous and natural density.
Low error margin: Thanks to automatic pressure control, graft loss is minimized.

Disadvantages and Risks :: Since the investment cost in the clinic and device is high, the cost may be higher compared to standard FUE Hair Transplant.
As with any hair transplant, mild swelling, redness, or temporary shock hair loss may occur.
The experience of the specialist performing the operation directly affects the success of the device.

NeoGraft vs FUE Procedure :: NeoGraft is actually a semi-automatic version of the FUE Hair Transplant technique; in other words, it is technically still an FUE Hair Transplant procedure. During the procedure, hair follicles are extracted and implanted using NeoGraft. This special instrument can be a pneumatic wand that gently extracts hair grafts without requiring your surgeon to extract them the old-fashioned way. Additionally, since a special instrument that makes incisions and implants follicles at the same time is used, there is no need to make incisions in the recipient area.

Is NeoGraft better than traditional FUE Hair Transplant? :: Neograft hair transplant precision and effectiveness compete with traditional FUE Hair Transplant technique. The NeoGraft device causes less damage to hair follicles by gently extracting hair grafts. This innovative technique reduces human error and achieves more successful results. Additionally, the neograft method is generally much faster than the FUE Hair Transplant procedure. However, it is a newer technology compared to this FUE Hair Transplant procedure. As a result, you need to work with a qualified medical team that can successfully perform the procedure.

How does NeoGraft hair transplant work? :: The NeoGraft hair transplant procedure begins with shaving the entire head or just the donor area, not the recipient area.
Your surgeon applies local anesthesia to provide minimum discomfort during the procedure.
Hair grafts from the donor area are extracted one by one using the Neograft device that applies pneumatic pressure, gently extracting hair roots. This extraction technique provides minimum follicle damage.
After the extraction procedure, your surgeon implants the hair grafts one by one with a special instrument. This also makes the neograft hair transplant procedure much faster than the FUE Hair Transplant procedure.
Your surgeon will apply a light dressing to the transplant areas after the procedure to prevent possible damage.
You will be able to return to your hotel after the surgery.

NeoGraft hair growth timeline :: One or two months after your neograft hair transplant procedure, you will experience shock hair loss, which is your body's natural reaction to the hair transplant. You will begin to recover approximately one month after the shock hair loss.

After 3 months, you will begin to see hair transplant results. However, you will need to wait 6 to 12 months to see the full results of the transplant.

Neograft Strengths :: The main advantage of NeoGraft is practitioner fatigue. In a session containing 3,000+ grafts, manual extraction requires significant concentration and physical endurance. Pneumatic assistance alleviates this physical burden.
As a patient, the benefits for you are the benefits of any FUE Hair Transplant technique: no linear scar on the back of your neck, relatively quick healing, and the ability to wear short hair without being noticeable.
Extraction time may also be somewhat faster compared to completely manual FUE Hair Transplant.

Neograft Weaknesses :: An experienced manual FUE Hair Transplant surgeon "feels" the resistance of each follicle, adjusts their movements in real time, and adjusts the depth and angle according to the skin tissue. With NeoGraft, this precision is partially lost. The transection rate of grafts damaged during extraction may be higher compared to expert manual FUE Hair Transplant. Every damaged graft means a hair that won't grow back. Among 3,000 grafts, even a 5% difference means 150 lost hairs, which is not insignificant.

NeoGraft is not ideal for all hair types. Afro-textured or very curly hair, along with their curled follicles, requires constant adaptation of the technique, which the machine cannot really accommodate. This is why Afro hair transplant specialists usually prefer manual techniques.

Finally, the cost of NeoGraft equipment and consumables is passed on to patients.

Recovery Process

Recovery after NeoGraft follows the same pattern as any FUE transplant. The small scabs in your recipient area will disappear within 7 to 10 days and your donor area will heal rapidly, leaving no visible linear scar.
You will likely experience what we call "shock loss," which is temporary shedding of the transplanted hair, occurring somewhere between week 2 and week 4. If such a thing happens, do not panic; this is completely normal and an expected occurrence. New growth typically begins around the 3rd month and final results are visible after 12-18 months.
Regardless of which extraction technique was used, care instructions remain the same: avoid intense exercise for approximately 3 weeks, protect your hair and scalp from the sun, and follow the washing protocol provided to you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is NeoGraft hair transplant painful?

Since the NeoGraft technique offers a non-invasive approach and local anesthesia is applied for maximum comfort, you will experience minimal pain during the procedure. Your surgeon can also give you a mild sedative to help you relax if you are particularly concerned about pain.

Is NeoGraft suitable for African American hair type?

The gentle approach of NeoGraft hair transplant technique is suitable for sensitive African American hair type. If you are of African-American descent and are considering NeoGraft hair transplant, contact our afro specialist team for more information. Is NeoGraft worth the expense?

If you want to restore your hair to a healthy appearance faster and in a gentler way and are willing to pay a little extra, Neograft is worth what you pay.

What is the difference from traditional manual FUE?

The surgeon does not extract each graft individually with tweezers. The machine takes on part of this work; this reduces fatigue during long sessions and can speed up extraction.

The advantage of Sapphire FUE: incisions that change everything

Sapphire blades used to create implantation channels have unique properties. Thanks to their exceptional hardness (9 on the Mohs scale, just below diamond level), they achieve a perfect edge throughout the entire process.

The incisions are finer, cleaner and more precise than traditional steel blades.

To give you numbers: while a sapphire blade creates incisions between 1.2 to 1.5 mm in steel, it creates incisions between 1.0 to 1.3 mm. This may seem like little, but when there are more than 3,000 incisions, the total effect on your scalp is quite high.

Finer incisions mean less tissue trauma. Your scalp heals faster, post-operative swelling is reduced, and crusting disappears faster. Most patients return to normal activities within days rather than a week.

But the biggest advantage is implantation density. Smaller incisions allow grafts to be placed closer together without jeopardizing blood flow. NeoGraft (with traditional implantation) typically achieves around 40-50 grafts per cm², while Sapphire FUE in experienced hands can achieve 60 to 80 grafts per cm².

In areas like the hairline, this density difference is visible to the naked eye.

Each hair grows at a specific angle and direction. On your forehead, hairs extend forward at a very sharp angle (15-20°). On the crown, they create a natural wave pattern.

A surgeon performing Sapphire FUE controls each incision individually and faithfully reproduces these natural patterns.

NeoGraft does not touch this stage, and that is exactly the problem. Even with perfect extraction, if implantation is average, the final result will be disappointing.
